Egyptian man: doesn't seem legitReader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men Submitted by Nourshehane (United States), Apr 27, 2013 at 23:56 JJ, i see nothing but red flags here....this man is looking to mooch off of you, I'd be careful.. Why on earth would he ask for your CV? That's strange & not something a prospective love interest would ask for. The only reason I see for him to ask this of you is to see your potential as a source of income for him. You even said he has no work history but wants proof of yours, and yet claims to have a degree in computer science? in today's modern world, he should not be jobless if IT is his field of expertise. have you ever seen his degree? He has some nerve asking you for yours. Just to bust him, i'd say "My CV for your computer science degree!"....what a complete & utter joke, these guys truly do lie & try to use women financially. Please do forgive me if i seem to be jumping the gun here, but I hear nothing about love or romance inherent in this man's intentions. Ask yourself this: would a guy from the United States ask to see ur curriculum vitae while you were dating? If he did, i'd give him major side eye. The guy I had a problem with was Moroccan....he was a red flag personified (albeit with a green star in the middle), but I got sucked in by his sweet talking. Luckily we never met & I certainly didn't give him a dime; and it is for this reason that I think he seemed to grow increasingly less interested in me.. He complained constantly of his poor financial situation in the US and I think he hoped his whining would cause me to offer money but I never did. In the event he was lying, I was not about to get fleeced. Anyway, I don't mean to veer off the path. My point in mentioning this to you is that my guy claimed to have all this education, even a Masters degree (in computer science & graphic design, mind you) and he couldn't find a job to save him in this country. He'd even showed me a resume of his, which was quite impressive (and could have easily been fake), so it seemed odd that he had trouble finding jobs even as waitstaff in a coffee shop. Then after a while, the truth seemed to reveal itself: he didnt really want to work. Whenever he called, he always seemed to be out with friends, and would cut our conversations short. Having a bit too much fun while unemployed, if you ask me. He claimed he was constantly looking for jobs, online all day (yea right...fishing for his next meal ticket courtesy a nice, vulnerable girl!) but couldn't find a single thing to show for it. He even claimed to have been scammed several times by Craigslist....again, the irony of ironies...LOL. Another thing: he wants you to go to him, but doesn't seem to be making an effort to come to you. That can never be good. With my Moroccan guy, he professed all this love for me, asking me to marry him, telling me sweet things ad nauseum yet he wouldn't even take a connecting train to come out and see me while we lived within 45 minutes of each other. But he had no trouble making it all the way from Morocco to France to North America.. -____- But the biggest red flag: he is secretive! That's it, no questions asked. I would end it right there. It is not fair to you that you are honest with him and he tells you nothing about himself. My guy was also very, very secretive & whenever i tried to probe him, he would either get agitated or claim he had to go (whether online or on the phone). Also, if i may ask, why does he want you to send him a video? What's all his fuss about not receiving a letter? Lastly, does he seem as loving and interested in you as before, or has that changed?
