bottom line

No matter where theyre from or what the religion is, it comes down to the man himself. I read many of the stories here, and often wonder how some of the signals are missed, the obvious abused that starts before the marriage, I read about how SOME of the writing on here basically condemn and warn against all muslim men. and I have read some very good points that women should consider before starting a relationship or marrying a muslim man.

I know all to well what is involved and all the steps I took before Marrying my husband who is muslim. I did read a few things that I definitely do not agree with , like that your children WILL be muslim or that the man is not a practicing muslim, that as a woman you must give up your religion/beliefs and convert, that the men are controlling, u will lose your freedom. Actually other than a few minor adjustments, not giving up or changing anything really,My husband and I really didnt have any problems...we both realized going into this relationship and then deciding to marry we both would have to make compromises. My husband will never compromise his faith and nor will I with my beliefs. All these issues we discussed before marriage, religion, children, family, employment, living in general, whats acceptable and what is not to us....I think alot depends on how you were raised, how he was raised , what kind of people you are, what kind of people you surround yourself with. There are so many factors you need to consider, especially when not just religion plays a role but where a strong cultural background plays a huge role.

I would advise anyone considering this or any relationship..take your time ask any and all question you can think of, he should never get angry by anything you ask him, make sure he understands your beliefs and where you stand , be firm , be strong and dont make all the compromises...compromise takes 2 people.Even after all this its not a gaurantee. Ladies the best advise I can tell you is ANY MAN should treat you with RESPECT, CONSIDERATION and he should treat you always as HIS EQUAL. And also someone on here mentioned if they ask you for money , for whatever reason, a "good" muslim man will never do this, they would find it shameful and a huge blow to their egos. The bottom line, they are grown men, they know right from wrong, its not the religion, because I have talked with good and bad and coming from the same cultural backgrounds and believe me its the man that makes the difference....
