I see similarities with your story

Danniah, thanks for your story. I think that you did the right thing when you broke up with him. And no matter what don't give up, better to find a normal guy from a culture that you understand. Don't question yourself, after reading this forum I think you know the right answer on what would have happened if you got back together with your ex.

After reading this I have found some similarities in behaviour of your Algerian ex and that guy I dated briefly. My Algerian French guy was also very selfish and manipulative. It was a brief relationship but he still tried to create bound between us. And as in your story he made me attached to him sexually. I remember when we made love (sorry for details) he would keep talking how I wouldn't want to have sex with any other guy after him. I didn't mind. But when I came back I couldn't look at any other guys without remembering making love to him for some time. He also made me emotionally connected to him. But on the situation we had all his manipulations were completely pointless, it only made me suffer for some period of time. He didn't get anything from it except me writing to him how I miss him for a few months. Maybe it was his possessive side. I don't know.

So as I wrote before, better not to open up to men like this. It can be used against you later.
