Sure. I was married to an Iranian Shiite Iranian Muslim in the early 1980s and things went very badly once he took me to Iran for a "visit" to have our first child. I wrote about this in my recently republished memoir, Lost In Foreign Passions, 2nd edition using my then married name as my pen name.
