Syrian Man too good to be true

Hi everyone,

I have been reading all the posts and I am just in shock. All these stories have confirmed I should follow my gut feeling.

I met a Syrian guy online. We met in person very quickly since I wanted to hear his story in person and see what he was about. From the start he was super super mushy, attentive, would text all day and call many times. In less than a month he asked me to be his girlfriend and I said no, since it was so quick. He persisted and persisted and I thought he was sooooo nice and sweet and seems to want to do everything for me, why not.

Then I started to get a weird feeling in my gut, like this is all just too "perfect", he's too "nice, accommodating etc". What is weird is he said his family is "modern muslim" and that he is "non practicing muslim." So he made it seem like its no big deal. He even went to tell me all the freedoms women have in Syria and got argumentative when I was just trying to find out more about his culture. Even so he still kept sending me corny song lyrics and cheesy lines, which to me don't seem sincere at all. It seems like toooo much charm.

Anyway it's been less than 2 months and he said he loved me last week, major Red Flag. He hasn't done anything wrong per se but all his overtly overwhelming behaviour of calling and texting and demanding time with me just seem so over board and like there is another agenda. Any advice would be great, I just want to end this, it doesn't feel right.
