I am aware of the North African/MidEast morality rules regarding sexual behaviour, ie needing a marriage certificate to stay in a hotel together etc, and as usual you are quite correct in how differently marriage is viewed.

But to add to what you wrote, a lot of scammers may push marriage early because spontaneous people buy into things easier.

As you know, most of the stories on here have a lot more going on than just cute, quick marriage proposals because of innocent cultural misunderstandings.
