You made the right choice. A reason why people change their information or have multiple profiles is because they may be talking to other partners. If he keeps on changing his information and is ignoring you, it's really time to move on.

A lot of times, one never is quite satisfied with the information.

My concern with your situation is that he may come crawling back in a couple of weeks or even 6 months from now.

Get on with life, but just don't be surprised (or over-flattered) if he does that.
