Life With Muslim Man

I dated a muslim man over 10 yrs. To simply say he was abusive is an understatement. He was not satisfied until he had completely broken me down into thinking he was the only one who counted in my life. I was slowly isolated away from my own family. If we went to a restaurant he would eat while I watched. I cried so often I lost count. His family hated me. He despised my religion (that didn't keep him from sleeping with me) but always insisted on saying "peace be with..." his prophet anytime that name was mentioned. However he never went to mosque while I knew him.

Oh, did I mention he was violent? He lied. To get the truth, I had to ask extremely direct questions as if a lawyer. That's how much Islam and the Koran espouses lying. He cheated on me, at least monthly. Thank God I never got an STD.

He bragged if we had kids he would take them to Pakistan and I'd never see them again. Sexually he was developed but very gross, incompetent, and thought sex revolved around whatever he saw in porn movies.

I never stopped praying to Jesus, and HE did rescue me. Thankfully I had some family who cared enough to arm me with the emotional tools to tell this jerk it was over, on my terms not his. Once I threw this relationship (strange name for what we had) in the trash my life improved. This "man-boy" couldn't handle being dumped; he threatened me...

I've been married to a great Christian man for several years now. He loves me for what I am, and says so several times each day. We've built a life together. Now I'm counted as a partner, an equal. Thankfully my pain has taught me what love really means, what it is, and what sharing it with somebody who knows it, wants it, loves to love, can do to lift not just one life, but two joined together as God meant. I AM HAPPY.
