Hi Stephanie and welcome

You're not going to know for sure by just talking over the internet, webcam, mail or phone. Pretty much every woman I've know or heard from on here isn't built that way, and for good reason:

Men can be deceitful, sneaky and dishonest.

Communicating by facebook or the internet in general just makes it easier for them.

Meeting someone internationally (you didn't specifiy where he is from) over the internet is in many cases a waste of time and money. Even if it's not a scam, the relationship may not work out for any number of reasons.

Frankly, Stephanie you're never going to trust this man. Even if you meet him occasionally, it won't solve the problem.

What you have to be aware of is that women who come on here in similar situations as yours always, always have to admit that they are taking a risk by marrying someone they met on-line because there is not and will never enough communication for the woman to trust the man.

I can understand why you would like this guy. I'm sure he talks nice and sweet and I would not be surprised if no other American man treats you like that. A lot of Western men are lousy at communicating with women and it's a big reason this board even exists.

But talking on-line is a cop-out for oh so many reasons. It's easier and it leads people to see and think and hear what they want.

I strongly advise breaking this off and interacting with people in real life, Stephanie. I just think that you are going to invest a lot of time, emotion and even money in something that is not a sure thing.

An American man who interested in marrying a foreign woman once asked "so, I how know she's not after a greencard?".

The answer: After you marry her.

And by after, we mean after. It can take months, even years for these scams to materialize, and scammers are very patient.

A Russian woman, for instance, married a man in the USA. He went out of his way for her, even found Russian connections in his local areas so she would feel more at home. Three years after they were married, she got herself a drivers license and left.

I think a lot of times people do not realize just how lucrative the internet is. It is loaded with a lot of bad things and bad people who know exactly what they are doing.

The answer is, Stephanie, you won't ever know for sure. You won't be able to tame those feminine doubts and will got into a relationship with this man partially blind, and it's true for everyone in your situation.

So it is in your best interest to end this and interact more with your family, friends and people in real life.

I think you can do better than meeting strange, distant men on facebook.
