I would take it really really slow

Hi Sylvia,

I think that any time you feel like something is too good to be true, it almost always is. If you are hesitant enough to be asking questions, that is not a good sign. I have known women who due to social or emotional confidence issues have gone into long distance relationships because they feel safer. The truth is, it is hard enough to get to know who someone really is when you see them every day and even live with them (it can take a few years even until they show themselves fully). So to add to that the disadvantages you have by not being able to look directly into his eyes, or see how he behaves in his every day life, or how he treats his friends, or women, makes it even more difficult.

Plus, you have no idea or way to verify that anything he is telling you is true. Since it is a fact that many of these Algerian, Tunisian, Moroccan, Egyptian etc men scam women as a rule for either money or locations, you cannot ignore this fact and pray that he is different. I would at least take things really slow, let him come to you under his own steam, meet slowly and get to know him in your culture and then see what happens.

Good luck Sylvia, and be strong and resolute if you have to. If you don;t care for yourself, who will?
