Amira, what a brave young woman you are! Your posting is the very best of the very best. ADHD is unfortunately a diagnosis that is far too often used when, in fact, the problem is usually clinical depression. My great grandmother was born to a Muslim man and an American Indian woman. Fortunately her mother taught her to read and write and when my great grandmother's father died, she left the home and later became a business woman. When I was a little girl I remember my great grandmother wearing the scarf and abaya. When I asked why she dressed so strangely, she would smile and say, "so you never have to".

I cringe when I read posts defending Islam. Apparently they haven't read the Quran or if they did, they didn't understand what they were reading. Any religion that does not value women is not a religion. Any religion that teaches hatred of others just because of their religious beliefs is not a religion. I find it very interesting that had it not been for Mohammed's first wife, Khadija, a rich Jewish woman, he wouldn't have been a Prophet. Wasn't it Khadija who convinced him that he was a Prophet? Yes, it was.

Move forward in your life and enjoy your new found freedom. Your cousin who raped you and later married you to protect your "honor" is burning in hell and I might add, he deserves his final destination. Thank God you are free from the evil man.
