Reader comment on item: Confirmed: Barack Obama Practiced Islam
in response to reader comment: religion as a tool

That's pretty intolerant to say that religion is just a means to kill and dominate.

As a former Christian, you know full well that is not what Jesus of Nazereth taught.

The big thing I like about religion is self-discipline, and I've been blogging way to long to fall for the "well, it's your choice" nonsense. Personal irresponsibility costs the taxpayers millions every year. Religion doesn't.

I have observed that most people leave a religion because it means

-no drugs

-less beer

-no premarital sex

-want money

-can't give up material things

In other words, they don't read the latest findings on cosmological concepts, they just want to do something stupid and dangerous and not have nasty ol' Mr. Conscience bother them.

I really hope you rediscover the love of Jesus.
