Reader comment on item: Confirmed: Barack Obama Practiced Islam
in response to reader comment: Does Obama agree, Jesus is/was son of God?

Well one can't be a Christian without believing that Jesus Christ is the son of God. Religion is a choice and Obama chose Christianity. His mother was also a Christian. I know a family who the mother and two daughters converted to Christianity and the father was still a practicing Muslim. It is possible to have a Muslim parent and be a Christian.

Just because he became a born again Christian 20 years ago, it doesn't mean he was a practicing Muslim before that time. He could have been someone still trying to find religion, etc. There are many people who don't belong to a particular faith yet convert older in life.

It's absurd to question whether he believes Jesus is the son of God. Every Christian believes that He is the son of God. It is fundamental in being a Christian.
