Vote for Obama just because he is black. Racism is on a reverse trend that is bad for all of us.

It frightens me how many people I know plan to vote for Obama just because he is black. They care not of his political views and stance on key items, just that fact that they want to (and I quote) "hook up the brother". Don't get me wrong, this posting is not about which candidate I am voting fo,r or if Obama is qualified and the best candidate for our country. It is about this reverse discrimination and hatred that is coming from the black community.

In a recent political discussion in the office about the election, the reactions I received really bothered me. I was raised by parents that taught me that skin color is irrelevant, but morals and integrity are the core of respect. The thirteenth amendment was passed over 140 years ago but why cant we move on. It seems that the hatred of the white race is becoming stronger and the tension between races is becoming much worse that it ever was. I understand we must get past the discrimination and I feel that the more we try to make that happen the more the black community wont let it happen. Perhaps we will never be able to "let it go" and move on to be a unified society.

Let us hope that someone can unite us soon before this becomes another civil ware. Perhaps Obama can be the candidate to bring us all together an address the race issue with honesty and intelligence. But I hope who ever is elected to be President this year is elected for the right reasons.

A person should be hired in a position based on their qualifactions, not their skin color.
