Reader comment on item: Confirmed: Barack Obama Practiced Islam
in response to reader comment: Government and the religious test

You seem to think that I am that person you speak of. I have been disgusted about all the articles, blog post, the emails that are circulating about Barack Obama. I followed a link to this site looking for information on Wahhabism and saw this article. Another article, as if one tells a lie often enough it becomes the truth. The time line of events didn't jibe and one thing I thought of was how prevalent Wahhabism was in Indonesia in 1960.

You see I am old enough and I somewhat pay attention to what was happening in the world at that time. The article should have named names of his friends, just to see if any were mentioned in his autobiography. He isn't my candidate at this time, I don't even know if he will still be in the race, when my primary is in April. I don't presume what voters will do in the ballot box.

But too much emphasis has been put on Obama's religion. When he says he a Christian, he is called a liar. I don't remember people openly challenging Senator Lieberman's statements about how would deal with his religion once in office. So I think it is mighty peculiar that Barack Obama has been singled out. It was not even this much ruckus when John F. Kennedy sought the Democratic nomination. So I'm doubly suspicious as to why it is an issue with Obama.

Individuals may take a candidates religion into consideration when the vote, but these articles, etc. make it seem like it is a requirement. If one is paranoid of Islam, in these times, with the same paranoia, I am surprised that there haven't been articles, emails and post declaring George W. Bush the anti -Christ.
