Ah, yes, Livonia, it would seem a simple thing to do but for the independent nature of non-believers. As Ellen Johnston, President of American Atheists, has said, "Trying to organize Atheists is like trying to herd cats. They are free thinkers and therefore very independent."

The nearest we've come to a true secular candidate has been Ralph Nader, who I voted for in the year 2000 election. Too bad he didn't win. If he had we would not be bogged down in a military occupation of Iraq, we wouldn't have a nine trillion dollar national debt and nearly four dollar a gallon gasoline, and we wouldn't have a president who wants to convert the United States into a Christian theocracy---all of which we currently DO have.
