Yes - it matters

Reader comment on item: Confirmed: Barack Obama Practiced Islam
in response to reader comment: Does Obama agree, Jesus is/was son of God?

Allow me to indicate why Obama's background matters, and why we should be concerned

-His current church affiliation, although placed under the umbrella of "Christian", is biblically heretical - teaching the need of baptism for salvation. Thus BO may be affiliated with a so-called Christian denomination, and he may even claim to be a Christian, but the doctrines spoused show he is not. In addition:

--His position on abortion and gay marriages show he is not a Christian

--His lack of support for Israel is reflective of his Islamic influence.

--Belittling passages of the Bible as "obscure" because they do not support his position (gay marriages) shows his true colors - not a Christian

-Islam is in his background and He has not denounced Islam.

-He is not a supporter of Israel

-The welfare of the United States as a nation is directly linked to the US support of Israel (Gen. 12:1-2)

Note: To be a Bible-believing Christian is not and it should not be a requirement for presidency of the United States. My point above is that even though BO claims to be a Christian, his positions and beliefs speak to the contrary. It is obvious the he isn't a Muslim either. But it appears that he is sympathetic toward it, and it would be natural for that to be true since he was raised in that religion and he was never really converted to true Christianity.
