Now that you've mentioned him asking for money, that's a big red flag and it unfortunately confirms my suspicions. As a rule Kurdish men HATE asking for money - from anyone, never mind a woman. They would rather be on the streets. It's just not in their blood, Tracey, so I fear his intentions may be less than honourable.

Like Hope said they don't mind waiting - at the end of these tawdry tales, they can move on with their lives. Think about it... they had little to no feelings for us, invested nothing emotionally or financially... the only thing they miss out on is a meal ticket. Most of them bounce back fairly quickly, and we're left picking up the pieces.
