Reader comment on item: Advice to Non-Muslim Women against Marrying Muslim Men

Submitted by Lullablue (Singapore), Dec 14, 2016 at 09:22

I met a man online on a group chat application. We used to talk in the group and we had common online friends, that made me trust him because i could see him interacting with others, helping people looking for advices and comforting us when we were down.

I also trusted him because he did not get into any online relationship with anyone i knew on the group. I even looked for him in other group and i felt that he was not hiding anything to me. I started having feelings for him. For info he is living in UAE and he and his family doesnt seem to be poor. I have seen the post and comments about men in Morroco and Egypt and those country probably have a fair amount of poor local population, but i have seem his house many times when we video cal and it isnt a small house, its well decorated with fine painting and sofa and tvs. I dont believe money is the objective for him.

But by reading the comments on the website i started being worried so i wanted to know if anyone have experienced a relationship with a muslim in UAE, the rules and religion are strict there, but i dont want to judge him on the rules of a country. Some people can be good even in a strict country.

Anyway we are in a relationship for few months (only). He mentioned that he wants to come over to visit. I think one of us has to come over to visit the second? I liked it that he offered to come it shows he cares for me. I also read about what you say about visa and immigration purpose but what if he come just for a week or two to meet me as a start. That would clear the reason of is visit if he want to stay here forever.

He never ask for money, and when he talks its more like money isnt a problem for him... I dont even think he want to leave UAE to immigrate. Anyway, if anyone has experience with men in UAE i really need to know more.

Thanks..
