Dear Dr. Pipes,

In response to Vic Rosenthal's post, you mention the theory that once Israel "defeats" the Palestinians, then the rest of the Arab world will come around and accept Israel.

What about the opposite strategy where Israel focuses on regional agreements while putting the Palestinian issue on the backburner? With all the recent upheavals in Syria and Lebanon, the day might arrive soon where it is possible to cut deals with those states, especially if new regimes take hold in those places. This may cause a sense of urgency on the Palestinian side and lead them to understand that they're "missing the boat."
