it's not really their 'home'

Reader comment on item: Israel Shuns Victory

Submitted by Donald O (United States), Mar 29, 2006 at 20:49

Despite the claims from the religious fundamentalists [christian/jew] - that it was 'God's destiny' that this little piece of land return to people that occupied it thousands of years ago... the residents themselves not only have far less faith in these predictions but must inherently sense that this nice cozy place setup here for them isn't their real 'home' and therefore not really worth fighting and suffering over. And, that's why they develop all the means to avoid victory as Daniel clearly posits.

Unless... and here's the key point - they can use the methods outlined by Daniel to allow them enough breathing room to garner assistance in the dreams for this land by powers that may also be convinced and come to their aid - if need be. And Daniel's right again - it's just that, a utopian dream. Better to continue to collect the billions in aid every year from the USA and enjoy the Med while you can.
