in response to reader comment: WHAT SORT OF SIGNAL IS ISRAEL SENDING?

Advocating a hot war against the Palestinians will achieve little. They will take the punishment, lick their wounds, and come back to the same status quo. Israel is following a policy pursued by Theodore Roosevelt----talk softly and carry a big stick! Building a wall and creating a garrison state is tentamount to talking softly, the big stick is the IDF. The rockets that the Palestinian lob into Israel are flea bites and don't amount to much, but if they become bothersome, then the IDF will take proper action.

Hamas nows administrates the Palestinian government and as such they will be exposed so they will have to be a little cautious in playing the terrorist game.

While, in the eyes of the world, all Middle East Arab countries are the enemy of Israel when in reality there is only one deadly enemy and that is Iran. Egypt and Jordan have peace agreements (actually armistices in disguise). With Iraq neutralized, Syria is no longer a viable threat. Lebanon only provides a staging area for Hezbollah and they know that if they become too active watch out for Lebanon invasion II. Saudi Arabia is only a financial center and they're just opportunists playing a political balancing game. The smaller Arab countries are no military threat at all. So that leaves Iran. Israel, through their wall and garrison mentality, hope to wait out Iran perhaps for a regime change. However, if Iran stays on a belligerent course all bets are off and the proverbial Armageddon may be in hand!!

What to do, what to do!
