Okay, Dr. Pipes, assume we accept your premise that the aim of the war is to make the arabs give up their dream of destroying Israel. It follows this is a psychological objective. Therefore requiring a campaign of education? What, propaganda? Mind control? ....

Yes, the goal in every war is to convince the other side that it cannot achieve its goals. There are many elements that contribute to this goal, from intellectual to military.
