My Dad is christian and Mum is hindu. We've been living in the UK for 21 years. The fact is, on an average a British person thinks about god / goes to church, is less than twice his entire lifetime. I follow both the faiths. I have had more compulsion from my christian uncle to just follow christanity. They come up with fantastic stories and confuse me and make me feel guilty that, Christ will be upset with me if I go to hindu temple. Rubbish like that. I was lost and so stressed at occassions when I was a teenager.

But none of my hindu uncles had ever spoken about me going to a church. As far as I'm concerned, I follow both faiths. Preaching christanity to people from other faith is unwanted / morally unaccecaptable.

But now, I feel religion is a very personal issue. If the missionary is so keen on doing service to the poor and needy in the world, why dont we just do that. Why should we get into dirty business of converting people off their religion to christanity. I feel we (chistians) dont have enough followers in western world, so we try to get it from the vulnerable by bribe, fooling and force.

So stop trying to fool yourself and please god only by service ... If you are an Indian just imagine, 3 generations ago you were a hindu. You do not know the circumstance your grandparents had to give up their religion and you have turned against your own blood. India has enough problems on its own, all you are trying to do is to divide the people more and cause an unsafe world for the future generations.
