Gary, you're spot on; Akhtar does seem to wear a lot of affability on his sleeve, especially when he writes expansively on the subjects of the Koran, the Wahabists, Sufis et al. Got all the solutions, neat and simple. So why do we go splitting on the dangers to civilisation itself?

As for Arab aid to Pakistan (and not the tsunami-affected), Mushy is a smart guy. He is for the West closest ally in the War Against Terror; he is Arabs' blue eyed boy for those Islamic nukes and terrorist training camps. Brinksmanship pays.

There's reports of over 3000 international terrorists killed in the earthquake, so naturally he doesn't want aid givers to go to the hinterland to see all the non-Pakistanis buried under the rubble. http://www.kashmirlive.com/full_story.php?content_id=56711&type=ei

And with all that aid, why did he want to put up a *tent city* in the coming snows of Muzaffarabad? Is that all Pakistan owes to the people in PoK? The UN was quick to see through that subterfuge. http://www.tribuneindia.com/2005/20051017/world.htm#3
