We the people ... may have been endowed with certain inalienable rights, but there is little comfort that we can derive from it.

Our leaders do not tell us all that is happenning and If I were in position of power I would probably do the same for fear of alerting my enemy to what I know.

You probably recall the massive offensive that was launched during the Korean War that basically saved our hides. Here we were being squeezed tighter and tighter into an area approaching the size of Dunkirk in the southeast corner of So. Korea. One morning, we launched an offensive and the public had known nothing of its preparation. I only hope that the enemy knew as little as we did.

I mention this because I read in the Oct. 10th blog from Arutz7 that al Qaeda - here is the headline:
"Al-Qaeda has built at least one base in Sinai, from where terrorists are sent to Gaza and from there to Israel. Egypt has done nothing to stop it, says IDF Intelligence Chief Gen. Ze'evi-Farkash."
In the Oct. 11 blog from DEBKA we read : "Moscow Arms Assad with a Top-Flight Surface Missile" The device is an Iskander SS-26.

We attacked Afghanistan to destroy Taliban and al Qaeda terrorist camps. The Sinai is flatter and more open. Am I missing something? Our President insinuated that the terrorist and the one allowing the terrorist to thrive were one and the same.

What our president is telling us in his speeches leaves me with no warm fuzzy comfort that he has a big something going on. I wonder how Harry Truman would be handling affairs were he here to day. Is there any one who will run for President who would be willing to tell the people "If you don't like what I am doing and don't think I can do the job, then throw me out and find someone strong enough who can."

On a personal note of conflict: I go in for open-heart surgery in 10 days. What will I wake up to? Will I be better off were I not to awaken?
