A Decision Rule for Bush's War

Reader comment on item: Bush Declares War on Radical Islam

Submitted by Martin Kessler (United States), Oct 12, 2005 at 15:55

I'm glad the ideas you have been expounding seem now to be making its mark where they will make a difference in kind, not just in degree.

My only reservation is this: the line between "radical" Muslims and "moderate" Muslims is too vague and difficult to draw so it would be wise to treat and assume a questionable Muslim is radical, when he may in fact be moderate, than to assume he is moderate when in fact he's radical. This "decision rule" minimizes risk and regret.
