George Bush's "War on Terror" speech

Reader comment on item: Bush Declares War on Radical Islam

Submitted by Jacqueline F. Knoblock (United States), Oct 12, 2005 at 12:22

I was quite happy to hear the President's remarks on the war on terror, and hope that this is a cautious step of "testing the water", so to speak. I cannot believe that anyone in this country who has brains to think, ask questions and research would think that this WoT (War on Terror) is just that: a war. To be sure we are in a war, but it is not merely WoT. It is a war to literally save Western civilization and culture, not just in the Middle East, but Europe and eventually the whole world, and the US.
Unfortunately with the PC dialog that goes around these days, you cannot call a spade a spade. If it walks like a duck and quacks like a duck, then it's a duck! The problem, for want of a better word, is not radical Islam, but Islam. period. No qualifiers, or adjectives, please. It's plain and simply Islam. Check out the Koran and its calls for jihad. Its attitude towards unbelievers. check out your history books and see what the story really is about those Crusades that attacked many many peaseful Mulims and slaughtered them, just for the heck of it. Check out the hundreds of years of Christian, Jewish, etc.
mistreatment under the Muslim rule. Just be sure you read a history book that tells the truth. Not one of the newer "PC" edited ones.

. ..People say "Islam is religion of peace." Sure it is as long as you submit to Islam in all it's ways and laws. There is no room for diversity at all.
I could go on and on about this, but I won't. Comments please?
