Seperation of Radical from Islam

Reader comment on item: Bush Declares War on Radical Islam

The media and their "political correctness" has caused a huge disservice to the American people. Yes, Radical Islamists are different from mainstream Islamic people, as radical fundamentalist Christians are different from mainstream Christians. The biggest difference is the mainstream Islamic INDIFFERENCE towards their radical bretheren.

As a Christian, I am outraged when I see an extremist Christian do something illegal and immoral to further their cause. I would go as far as saying that if I were to wittness a fellow Christian breaking the law in the name of Jesus I would do my part to make sure they were put in jail.

You do not see that in Islam. More often than not you see indifference. Even allowance. I believe that has hurt our war on terror more than is realized. Imagine how things would be right now if those mainstream Islamist would stop being apathetic towards these radicals and started identifying them, possibly calling them out.

You will never see this because I believe that the dirty secret not being spread in the media is that deep down in their hearts the mainstreem Islamist is sympathetic to the radical. They may not have the bold or daring to be one, but they believe in ther cause. If they were to turn them in it would be against their belief, and thus, a sin to Allah. Deep down most Muslims believe the radical is right and the Americans (Christians) and such are really truly Infadels.

If I am correct, then the war on terror will not end anytime soon.
