To Rakshas... Save the "Refined English" and leave Mother Theresa/Missionaries alone!

in response to reader comment: Mother Teresa, A Misused Icon To Furhter Aims Of Christian Conversions

Dear Rakshas

You misunderstood me badly. I don't have any bad or negative feeling towards Indians. How a billion people with diverse culture and language can co-exist peacefully is very admirable and intriguing.

"The negative and dismissive way in which you write about Indians, tells enough about yourself"

Can you please state what negative things I had said?

"These are heads to be harvested, nothing more"

Hinduism didn't originate in India. It is a foreign religion. While your "head" has been "harvested" by this religion, directly or indirectly, why do you have negative feelings when you see your Indian brethren adopting Christianity? (Also a foreign religion to India).

"Don's is an extreme outsider view of Indians, without the least bit of credibility, so I will let the remark about protesting Indians pass!"

I'm not an "outsider'" who is talking Indians without credibility. I know Indians very well and I have lived with them. What is that you want to pass? And why do you have to pass it? Please mention it and correct me if I have made a mistake!

"Indians working among Indians hardly need his approval"

That is true. Indians don't need my approval. But if I see any humanitarian Indians helping some poor people, I will commend them and not condemn them as having a selfish "agenda".

But there is one thing I want to tell you. Missionaries have got to fear more from Indians than Indians have to fear missionaries!

The reason I responded to your message was to see your reaction of what your reaction would be when someone was accusing Mother Theresa of being a terrorist or "menace"...I know of many Indians who swear by the integrity of Mother Theresa and speak of her with adoration. But you instead of defending her, you went straight to attacking the missionaries as if you were waiting for a "golden opportunity!"…Please see the situation in your country and try to see who is ruining or "eroding" the "Indian identity"….

Best wishes
Don.
