Need to remove Islam from religion

Reader comment on item: Bush Declares War on Radical Islam

Submitted by John Bastile (Malaysia), Oct 11, 2005 at 12:52

The world has seen many forms of ideologies and systems of governance. Feudalism, socialism, communism, facism, nazism, secularism and the most menacing - Islamism.

President Bush had a tough one when compared to his predecessors. You can fight Nazism because it clearly an ideology on a supreme race - the Aryans. You can fight communism because it's an ideology. Now, we have Islamism - religion, race and ideology interwined. Attempts to neutralise the enemy's threats may cause a backlash where you are branded as a bigot, racists, anti-religion, insensitive, facists and of course - Islamophobia.

There are many similarities between Nazism and Islamism. Both hold clear that they are superior than others and thus, seek the annihilation of other inferior beings. Perhaps it is merely a coincidence, or a divine testimony, that both evils desire the extermination of the Jews. To be fair, ancient christiandom has similar sins.

I believe that a vital step towards wininng this war is to decategorise Islam as a religion. If Islam is not recognised as a religion, we can systematically defang the enemy. It may seems impossible for the time being. One way is to bring back the old religion to counter this threat. For example, no other religion can be practised in Saudi Arabia. In fact, I just read that a chistian preacher was arrested while worshipping in his own room in Saudi. The West must be able to establish such tit-for-tat policies. At least for the time being. There's no need to transfer power to chuch leaders - no reversal of the Chuch-State separation. Use it as a bargaining chip to regulate the ever-demanding muslims and their ridiculous needs. No more mosques unless they are churches in muslim lands. Mosques are recruiting fronts for terrorists.

Another way to ban Islam is to prohibit hate-messages, war-mongering verses, fear-inducing statements and facists statements from printed materials. Come up with an act to ban the calling of killing of people such as infidels of a religion. By doing so, we will be able to ban the Quran.

Unfortunately, the opposite is true. Bibles are removed from courthouses. Qurans are placed in libraries. Pictures of pigs, statues, and Christmas plays are removed as not to offend the muslims. Mosques, with their noise-polluting azans, are allowed to be built wantonly. We are tolerating such intolerable Islamic practices. Verses from Quran calling for the killing of infidels. We are sensitive to such insensitive Islamic principles. Verses from the Quran telling muslims not to befriends non-Muslims.

We want to be educated, civil, peace-loving and sensitive people. We want to forget our racist past with the Blacks. We want to forget the Western imperialism of the 18th century. However, we need to understand that we cannot use the same treatment with muslims. Their holy orders are to conquer the world and convert all people to Islam. They want to demand sharia principles as the system of governance. Appeasements now will only make things worse when the West wakes up to the dangers of Islam.
