APOSTASY: Disapproval of apostasy is quite a different kind of hostility from sentencing a ‘renegade' to death.

MISINTERPRETATION: One is truly amazed how the omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent Allah permits His creatures to willfully misinterpret His Word like this? Has he abandoned His ummah?

ISLAM'S CONTRIBUTION: The Arabs, who first gate-crashed several superior cultures with Islam, possessed no indigenous civilizational competence to write home about. Most, if not all, of the accomplishments Mu'een Ud Deen mentions were thus entirely beyond their barbaric proclivities and could be attributed to people belonging to vanquished cultures who were then only incidentally Muslim (through forcible conversion, no doubt). The subtle but all-important difference between ‘Islamic scholar' and ‘scholar who is Muslim' is obviously lost on our friend. Far from promoting knowledge, Islam radically reversed the process of learning because nothing worth knowing was doctrinally possible to be found outside of the three founts of Islam – Quran, Hadis and Seera. If he continues in this vein, I entertain no doubt he will soon attain the expertise and gumption to make a claim as ludicrous as: the Sun rose in the East yesterday only because some Muslim saw it rising in that direction!

FREE WILL: Under the auspices of Communism in Soviet Russia, too, it used to be claimed that people had perfect democratic right to either vote for the candidate nominated by the Supreme Soviet, or not vote for him!
