Reader comment on item: Bush Declares War on Radical Islam

I'm an atheist and a liberal ( I believe in a lot of that whole 'freelove' vibe. legalized prostitution, make abortions easier to get, equality for the races, equality for women, etc) and I never wanted to really hate Islam. That's not part of the democratic liberal 'package'. But I was watching this Pat Condell video and he made me wonder if maybe I was totally wrong about Islam. So I spent 2 months on the internet learning why people hate Islam and then trying to find reasons to NOT believe that Islam was the most evil ideology ever created. I couldn't refute the evidence b/c there doesn't seem to be any evidence out there.

So , being an open minded person, I had to accept the evidence and the evidence says 'Islam is evil'. And, being a democrat who cares about the welfare of gays and women and children, I have to vote republican, b/c the republicans are the ones who aren't kissing Islam's butt all the time.If Islam takes over America, as democrats seem willing to let it do, the gays and women and kids will have NO rights. Also I have a new respect for fundamentalist christians now. At least they know when they have a fight on their hands.
