Bush is wrong; not an ideology like Communism

Dr. Pipes,
You are good man but you are far too trusting in this president and in his intentions and/or motives. We are at war with Islam not with an ideology like Communism. Islam is an ancient and violent religious tradition contained in the Qur'an, the alpha and omega of Islam.

This does not mean there are not moderate and peaceful Muslims; there are indeed but they are not following the prophet. The religion of Islam has declared war against America and against the west. The religion of Islam is cold-blooded, totalitarian and disdainful of free peoples.

Mohammad was a totalitarian ruler, cold-blooded and disdainful of anyone who did not embrace him as the true prophet, including the Jews of Medina whose males were beheaded and whose women-folk and children were enslaved. The prophet would advocate establishing "a radical Islamic empire that spans from Spain to Indonesia."

His followers established a similar empire after his death in the 7th century and thereafter -- from Saudi Arabia to North Africa, north into Spain and southern France, east into Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, India and China before they were turned back --- and according to the prophet's will.

Islamic leaders will not join in denouncing this "ideology" because it is not an ideology but a centuries-old religious tradition. And to denounce it would be akin to denouncing Allah and his prophet. This is heresy and idolatry (shirk) and the Muslim who denounces or renounces Islam is worthy of death.
