"Wahabists for example completely disregard Muhammad's saying because they feel the sayings are not part of the theologic framework of Islam".

No Mr Akhtar, you are saying things which I never heard before. First you said islam is not about quran and sunna. Now you are saying wahabis disregard sunna. Sir, wahabbis are very strict followers of quran and sunna, more so than all other sects. They are real muslims and follow the islam of prophet Mohammed (pbuh). Talibans were wahabis. Maudoodi was wahabi. Tablighis are wahabis. Wahabiism is not a sect. It is another name given to the very strict followers of quran and sunna. They dont read some later day sufi, shia, qadiani, bahai, ismaili, or bohri or some heretic scholar's interpretation of quran to understand it, they study prophet's life from sahih ahadiths and earliest siras ( that is all we have about prophet's life) sir) to understand quran because Allah in quran says " follow, Mohammed, obey Mohammed, he is your role model, and his life is your standard. Prophet's life was a living quran. They feel that using your own interpretation of quran instead of following prophet's example is rejecting quran.

You know procedures and details and procedure of salat, haj, fasting and most of sharia is based on sunna (that is hadiths) which Wahabis follow to the word, then how can you claim that wahabis disregard prophet's sunna".

Yes, quran was not delivered in finished form by Jibraeel. Yes it was compiled from bits and peaces from bones , leaves, wood ,stones and people's memory. Yes the current quran was finalized at time of Usman after a lot of controversies and after all other versions were collected and burned. Yes Usman's killers told him that he changed quran. Yes prophet (pbuh) never proofread the quran. But all sects of islam consider it as unadulterated word of Allah which cannot be changed and that it is for all peoples and for all time to come.

All mainstream muslims believers have faith in quran and sunna. Thus your suggestion to reform islam is futile unless you change quran and sunna which is unlikely to happen. People have been trying to do it since first century (A.H), it never happened as yet.
