Here is the word Abraham in Syriac: ܐܰܒ݂ܪܳܗܳܡ or ABRHM. Here is the word in Arabic in Surat al-Baqara: 124: ابرهم or ABRHM. And it is the transliteration of the Syriac form of the word.

However, as you can see, in Mr.Khattab's version of the Qur'an the word Abraham is: ابراهم (edited by adding an Alif after the letter Ra) again the Syriac form of the word

https://quran.com/2/124

Now, if you check the word in the Cairo Qur'an it is:

ابراهيم or Abrahim

Here check this link from no other than KSA

https://quran.ksu.edu.sa/tafseer/qortobi/sura2-aya124.html

This means that KSA is editing the Qur'an! More? If you check the link you will discover that in al-Qurtubi's tafsir the name is edited and Syriac Abraham is replaced by the Arabic Ibrahim

So KSA is editing not just the Qur'an but also the various Tafasir. Why? Because it must be embarrassing when the reader discovers that the name of ABRHM is really Abraham and not the Arabic Ibrahim

Now, let us check Mr. Khattab's translation again:

https://quran.com/2/124

So the name in the Arabic verse is the correct: ابرهم (same as in Syriac) and edited as ابراهم or Abraham (same as in Syriac)

Notice that Mr. Khattab translates the word ابراهم as Abraham but he is not alerting the reader that in this verse the name is Abraham and not Ibrahim.

I wonder why?

Dear readers: You think we should continue to read more of Mr Khattab's translation or just dismiss it as another tendentious translation that is not adding much to our understanding of what the Qur'an is really saying?
