Anne, you state that: "Go to the Koran and read the scriptures;" and; "The Koran states that women are completely equal to men in the sight of God".
Sura2, Aya282 And get two witnesses out of the your own men, and if two men are not there then a man and two women. Do you get it; one man equals two women.
Sura4, Aya3 And if you fear that you cannot act equitably towards orphans, then marry such women as seem good to you, two and three and four. No where in the Qur'an does it state that a women can have more than one husband, but it surely states that a man can have a least four wives.
