the true believer shows his coloursReader comment on item: A Saudi Prince's Threat to the Obama Administration Submitted by the Grand Infidel of Kaffiristan (Australia), Feb 9, 2009 at 19:31 STS, in response to a Muslim poster's comments such as: I must congratulate you on being so true to type and making it clear for all exactly how a true Muslim thinks. For once on this forum a Muslim poster is practical enough to recognise the obvious - that Israel and the Jews have a right to existence itself. He criticises (with great justification ) the attitude of Hamas. He has some understanding of the possibilities and benefits to all of possible peaceful co-existence. But no, to you he is a traitor. Thanks STS - you've helped clarify some uncertainty I had about the possibility of Islamic true believers allowing tolerant and moderate viewpoints to flourish in the Muslim world. The fact that you might be a relatively wealthy Muslim living in the Gulf states on rapidly receding income from selling oil to the rest of the world underscores this. If you can't develop tolerance in good circumstances - what chance is there for it developing in the illiterate masses in the squalor that exists in most of the Islamic world.?
