Syriac in the Qur'an!

Reader comment on item: Uncovering Early Islam
in response to reader comment: You have no evidence that the Quran was revealed in Syriac...

Our dear Adil who calls the US evil and he does not call the Muslim invaders of India that murdered millions of his Hindu nacestors in the name of the God of Islam

Mr. Pipes, you do not have any solid evidence that the Quran was revealed in Syriac.

It is your revered mufasereen the likes of al-Tabari and Ibn Kathir and al-Qurtubi that tell us about the significant layer of Syriac in the Qur'an, as would be expected and the following is just a very short list of Syriac words in the Qur'an:

Allah (Gasp!)

Qur'an

Muhammad

Sura

Tur

Nuun

Asfar

Bism

Raheem

Hur

Samad

What a disaster the word Allah is a loan word from Syriac

So when your Allah says in Q12;2 that it is Qurana Arabiyya so who is the liar here and it very well which could be read in Syaic as Quryana gharbayya or western lectionary (Christian lectionary from Palestine)

What a disaster
