Hi Ianus,

Yes, I do agree with you that it is sometimes necessary to manipulate the food chain to allow predators to control another population, it still does not mean that one must become supporters of the regime itself. Stalin can not be presented in a good light just because he contributed to keeping the Muslims at bay. That same argument can be made for the Nazis as well. Politics does indeed make strange bedfellows, and alliances with common enemies are critical. But, and there is a but, it does not mean complete acceptance of the ally. If I had to choose between Islam and Russia, or between Nazis and Russia, I would always choose the latter, but only because we had a common enemy.

At any rate, I wish that Russia today turned its sites off the West and back onto the Islamists. Unfortunately, they have made their own strange bedfellows with Iran and other ME nations. Therefore, they are no longer allied on any level. A brilliant strategist would figure out how to turn that alliance on its head.
