Reader comment on item: Uncovering Early Islam
in response to reader comment: What is religion

Submitted by Alexandros (United Kingdom), Jun 7, 2012 at 12:22

But why is this bad, how does the Tunesian Muslim who decapitated a fellow citizen two days ago, just because he changed his religion, sees the world around him? I repeat, i did not suggest to ban religion, i suggest that all religions would be freely accepted in all countries, except if you agree with death convictions like the above i mentioned or with the stoning of women because they might have cheated or with the burn of women because they revealed their face. This used to happen also in the Christian world, but a few hundred years ago, this still happens in the Muslim world. I fanatically support the respect of human life, human rights and the freedom of thinking. I can not accept death punishment because "God" says so, i can not accept that people think they are chosen or superior because "God" said so, i do not want my intelligence to be underestimated by bloodthirsty people who use God or religion for their own purposes, and yes, i am fanatically against them!
