Reader comment on item: Uncovering Early Islam
in response to reader comment: We agree more than we disagree about Muslims, Ibn Ismail

Submitted by ibn ismail (United Kingdom), Jun 9, 2012 at 20:12

Many leaders of Hamas and the muslim brotherhood seem to have embraced secularism, I don't believe they are going to be a sharia government. They do seem to have a great concern for the welfare of muslims, however, without total submission to sharia, it isn't good enough. Early Islam primarily focused on changing mans focus/purpose from the world to the afterlife, the actions that follow will are in accordance with the purpose of mans existence. If our world is good and our afterlife is bad, we have not succeeded, but if our afterlife is good, it doesn't matter how bad our worldly circumstances are, we have been put on earth to be tested, who submits (to God) and who does not
