Reader comment on item: Uncovering Early Islam
in response to reader comment: Some Moslems burn inconvenient books, others make their publishers do it.

Ianus: ".....I just wonder how many penniless Moslems can afford a trip to Australia from any Moslem ... like say Pakistan ? "

From Pakistan, Iraq, Afghanistan, the trips are invariably one-way - unless Immigration realises their scam. A favoured method these days is to get $10k together, move temporarily to muslim Indonesia, pay the $10k to Indo people smugglers and get on a leaky boat for the several hundred kms trip in often rough seas to the Australian territory of Christmas Island in the Indian Ocean, and if the boat doesn't sink on the way, they ring up Australian Federal Maritime authorities, put in a distress call, throw all their passports and documentation overboard - and get welcomed to Christmas Island - for free hot showers, food, TV and accommodation - and eventually of course a social security cheque -if they pass increasingly stringent health and security checks. And are not exposed as devious people masquerading as refugees who are in fact economic migrants (mostly middle class in their own countries) - seeking illegal entry.
