Victims' Christianity and Media IgnoranceReader comment on item: [Pakistani Christians and] A War Against What? Submitted by V.L.Ewell (United States), Oct 8, 2002 at 22:38 Neither government officials nor media writers recognize Christians as victims of anything. In this country, when a Jewish daycare was attacked, anti-semitism is quickly identified as the motive. When African-Americans were attacked, racism is quickly identified as the motive. But after a man entered a Baptist church in Ft. Worth shouting anti-Christian slogans before shooting several people, the F.B.I. and most opinion writers suddenly found themselves totally befuddled about the motive. It is much the same overseas. Islamic enslavement of Christians in the Sudan has nothing to do with religion, according to reporters. It is all about tribalism. And the killings in Pakistan are just part of a sideshow of the "War on Terrorism." Note: Opinions expressed in comments are those of the authors alone and not necessarily those of Daniel Pipes.
