Freedom of Religion in Muslim Countries

Reader comment on item: [Pakistani Christians and] A War Against What?

Submitted by Ram Krishna (Canada), May 30, 2004 at 22:42

Muslims have complete freedom of religion in every non-Muslim country in the world. The Muslims are free to build their mosques, they are free to proselytize and promote their religion in every country in the world.

Unfortunately, non-Muslims are not free to practice their religion freely in any Muslim country in the world., non-Muslims are not allowed to proselytize and promote their religion. Non-Muslims cannot build their temples and churches in any Muslim country.

It is about time that we Bahais, Buddhists, Christians, Hindus, Jains, Jews, Pagans, Sikhs demand that the Muslim countries including Saudi-Arabia grant us complete freedom of religion comparable to the rights the Muslims enjoy in our countries.

If the Muslims do not grants us equal rights then they should stop claiming that Islam teaches tolerance and respect for fellow human being.
