How long are we going to put up with this?

Reader comment on item: [Pakistani Christians and] A War Against What?

Submitted by JEO (Malaysia), Dec 17, 2002 at 22:28

Enough is enough. Look.... is it not obvious?

Why aren't there Catholic priests, Jewish Rabbis and Buddhist monks issuing fatwas against blasphemers, apostates, unbelievers etc. and preaching hatred and violence against everybody else? Why aren't Christians, Jews and Hindus dancing on the streets when the Allies bombed Iraq and Afghanistan?

If Muslims claim that it was Islam which was hijacked on 9/11, then why are they reluctant to confidently say that Allah will send the hijackers to Hell? Why are the Islamic clerics not issuing fatwas calling for death against those who claim responsibility for 9/11?

Which religion spread to North Africa, West Africa, Anatolia, Balkans, Spain, Iran, Central Asia, Middle East, Indian subcontinent by the sword and with much bloodshed. Why, Islam of course. Has any of the most pleasant of your Muslim relatives, friends and neighbours out of the 1 billion condemn if not express regret? ........... No? Why isn't it because these Muslims "martyrs" were merely carrying out and fulfiling Islam?

When Falwell, Robertson, Graham and other clergymen criticised Mohammed, weren't there many Christians who condemn and distanced themselves from them? Why aren't any of our most peace-loving of Muslim friends distancing themselves from the clerics who issued a fatwa against Falwell, Salman Rushdie etc? .....Because the problem does not lie with these clerics.....or Al-Qaeda .......or members of the various Islamic brotherhoods.......... or these Islamic militants (or martyrs depending from who's perspective) operating in Pakistan, Kashmir, Afghanistan, Yemen, Iran, Egypt, Algeria, Chechenya, Malaysia, southern Thailand, southern Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia, Somalia......... and so on and so forth (not to forget USA).

So, who is the enemy?.....Islam!!! Not Militant Islam and not Islamic terrorism. But all of us know that we can't fight Islam because you're up against 1 billion strong and growing. So we fool ourselves to think that it is militant Islam i.e. only a portion of the world's Muslims.

Maybe you can't fight Islam. But for God's sake when I read Daniel Pipes latest article that a film praising Mohammed will be aired on TV all over America with tax payers money....I was truly outraged.

Enough is enough. Why are we putting up with this? You will be imprisoned even in moderate Muslim countries such as Malaysia, if you show a film on other religions to Muslims privately. I urge you to fight the pro-Islam lobby in America.

You may not be able to fight Islam but you sure can fight the lies and deceit of these treacherous politically minded persons. We need hundreds more Daniel Pipes and Ali Sina.
