My dear Noor,

Thank you for your kindly response, however, it appears to me that any kind of violence that is related to the propagation of any belief system is unacceptable – even if it is contrived to be ‘defensive violence'. As I pointed out, even the mere ‘suggestion' that Allah is not god (almighty) or that Mohammad is not a prophet is grounds for ‘Jihad in the way of Allah'. This ‘attitude' is in direct conflict with ‘there is no compulsion in religion' for it ‘compels' the non-Muslim to either ‘submit to Allah' – ‘be in subjection to Muslims' – or ‘be in martial conflict with Muslims'.

Somewhere in the Quran, Mohammad ‘suggests' that he will worship what he will worship and that the ‘unbeliever(s)' will worship what s/he (they) will worship – with the implication of ‘why can't we all just get along'. This is in line with ‘there is no compulsion in religion'. I believe the ‘peaceable' attitude is found in Suras that were ‘revealed' while Mohammad was in Mecca – the ‘aggressive' attitude began and proliferated in the Suras that were ‘revealed' while Mohammad was in Medina.

In fact, while in Medina, it was ‘revealed' to Mohammad that the older peaceable attitude was ‘abrogated' by the newer aggressive attitude – in other words, Allah changed his mind as to what acceptable Muslim behavior was to be. Abrogation is itself a peculiar aberration of Islam when compared with Judaism and Christianity – in the latter two belief systems GOD is unchangeable – He doesn't change His mind nor does He alter His ‘revelation'. This is but one reason why I submit that your Allah is not my YHVH and that Mohammad was not a prophet of YHVH.

May the Peace that passes understanding be revealed to you … Amen
