You misunderstood the meaning....Reader comment on item: What is Jihad? Submitted by (United States), May 6, 2004 at 20:16 You have a wrong perspective of Jihad, Mr. Pipes. You see it as the Muslim method to conquer non-Muslims. But have you ever asked a Muslim WHAT Jihad really is? I can answer that myself: NO. Jihad is not the abuse and slaughtering of non-Muslims.It is fighting in the name of God. Which God? Allah. Just as Christians have had their Crusaders earlier in history. The purpose of Jihad IS to spread the Islamic Faith among the people who have not even heard the word 'Islam' uttered yet. But I highly doubt that people have not heard of Islam.
