So, who are the martyrs?

Dr. Farhad,

I have often wondered where truly religious, thinking and spiritual people in Islam stand regarding what is now being called Islamofacism.

If I understand you correctly Islam forbids murder, therefor the terrorists are something else, something outside of Islam. What do you have to say about the terrorists and their actions? How do you see your reality as related to or not related to them.

How do you perceive them?

Every faith and political party has extremists and on the far ends of any side and I think they have all lost perspective.

You said Jihad was about the superiority of Islam. Do you feel it is the One True religion or just the best for you.

Do the majority of Muslims feel that they should convert others to Islam?

I have often felt how very arrogant the Cristian Missionaries are to go around the world proselytizing and bringing food and aid to those they want to convert. They believe I am told that no one will get into heaven if they do not except Jesus. and it is their mission to save them.

I see these people as misguided but they do not hurt anyone in their endeavors.

Unlike their ancestors in the inquisition.

You seem informed and intelligent and I would very much like to hear your point of view. Or that of others who read the post that can shed some light on the subject.
