Reader comment on item: What is Jihad?

Submitted by jack (United States), Jun 5, 2007 at 15:39

jihad is not an invasion of the non-muslim world or the expansion af muslim territory. it is a defensive militant action to drive the infidels out of the holy land. infidels are peolple who do not accept a certain faith. this is not an idea that is only found in muslim history. the crusades are a wonderful example. the land being fought over is holy to several religions and sects, but none of the groups recognize the others' right be there. it is a testimony to the intolerance and selfishness created by religion.
